We are currently inviting experienced international Midwives to apply for clinical roles in Sydney, Australia, with visa sponsorship and relocation support available for eligible candidates.

Eligibility Criteria (Essential)

To be considered, candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Minimum 3+ years' full-time post-graduate clinical experience in The UK or Ireland

Currently practising, or recently practising, in a clinical role

Eligible for AHPRA registration (or application in progress)

Willing to relocate to Sydney, Australia

Visa Sponsorship

Successful candidates will be sponsored on the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa - subclass 482.

Key features:

Visa validity: up to 4 years

Permission to live and work in Australia

Family members may be included on the visa

Please note:

Permanent Residency (PR) is not guaranteed. PR may be considered after probation, at the employer's discretion Candidates may also explore independent PR pathways, such as subclass 189.

Salary - NSW Health Public Awards

Indicative base salaries (excluding penalties and overtime):

Year 4: AUD 86,434 (£45,369 / EUR52,033)

Year 5: AUD 90,724 (£47,621 / EUR54,616)

Year 6: AUD 94,994 (£49,862 / EUR57,186)

Year 7: AUD 99,876 (£52,425 / EUR60,125)

Year 8: AUD 103,979 (£54,579 / EUR62,595)

Costs to Be Aware Of (Indicative)

Typically paid by the candidate:

AHPRA registration (approx. AUD 935)

Health checks, Police checks, Document notarisation

Covered by the employer (reimbursed):

TSS visa fee (primary applicant)

One-way flight to Sydney

English Language Requirements

Only the primary visa applicant must meet English language requirements

Many nurses are exempt through AHPRA/NMBA registration pathways

Partners and children do not require English tests for the visa

AHPRA Registration - Overview

Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is mandatory to practise in Australia.

Most UK-educated nurses fall under Stream A. Exams are usually not required. Typical assessment timeframe: 4-6 weeks once documentation is complete. Applications should be submitted at least 3 months before the intended start date
